Daugavpils Sinfonietta invites to the concert!

VII Music and Art Festival Daugavpils ReStArt 2018; 28 September, 6 pm, Vienibas Nams Concert hall; Daugavpils Sinfonietta offers a concert „CENTENARY RECORDING FOR ORCHESTRA”

In honour of Latvia’s Centenary the concert features Emils Darzins, Jazeps Vitols, Janis Mednis, Raimonds Pauls, Martins Brauns compositions, as well as Aivars Broks’ arrangements of folk songs and Latvian composers’ compositions. Soloists of Latvian National Opera and Ballet Sonora Vaice (soprano and Rihards Macanovskis (baritone) will also participate in the concert. The conductor - Aivars Broks.

The concert is the second in the cycle of concerts commissioned for Latvia’s Centenary, “Centenary recording for orchestra”. Three orchestras of Latvian Culture Center: professional winds orchestra “Daugava” (conductor Arnoldr Grinberts), orchestra Daugavpils Sinfonietta (conductor Aivars Broks) and Accordion orchestra (art director Tatjana Saratova) will offer concerts featuring music of Latvian composers – the classical and contemporary arrangements and new works. The third concert takes place in the Anniversary month – November 19.

This project has received support from the program”Latvia – 100” of the State Culture Capital Foundation.
